President Obama lands in Cleveland accompanied by Richard Cordray

President Obama landed at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport accompanied by former Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray.

This morning Obama appointed Cordray to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Democrats Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson and U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur of Toledo greeted the president at the airport.

Kaptur received a peck on the cheek, Jackson a handshake and elbow pat. The three chatted for about 30 seconds before the motorcade left en route for a private residence.

Obama will discuss economic concerns with a Cleveland-area family before heading to Shaker Heights High School, where he is scheduled to speak at 1:15 p.m.

This story is a pool report. Henry Gomez will be filing these throughout the day.
